<p>Red Canyon Campground is located in a grassy meadow high above Flaming Gorge Reservoir, along Red Canyon Road. Visitors enjoy exploring the Red Canyon Rim Trail and canoeing and fishing at Greens Lake. The campground lies close to beautiful cliffs overlooking Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Lodgepole and ponderosa pines dot the campground, providing limited shade. Summer wildflowers are plentiful.</p><p>Nearby Greens Lake offers great canoeing and fishing for rainbow and brook trout. Red Canyon Lodge sits on the shore. Canoe and bike rentals, horseback riding, a restaurant and gift shop are available. Red Canyon Rim Trail, for hiking and biking, begins at the nearby visitor center, which offers interpretive displays and area information.</p><p><strong>Good to Know</strong></p><ul><li>Trash collection is provided.</li><li>No electric, water or sewer hookups are available.</li><li>Don't Move Firewood: Help prevent the spread of tree-killing pests in our national forests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. Firewood is available to purchase at the Greens Lake Campground from the host.</li><li>Dump stations are located at Antelope Flat, Deer Run, Firefighters, and Lodgepole. A fee is charged.</li><li>Showers are located at Deer Run and Mustang Ridge for campers with proof of camping registration.</li></ul><p><strong>Nearby Attractions:</strong></p><ul><li>Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is known not only for its beautiful red cliffs, but also for its world-class fishing for lake, brown and rainbow trout. Boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities on the reservoir.</li><li>Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam itself; The adjacent visitor center contains area history exhibits.</li><li>The Green River below the dam provides spectacular rafting opportunities. A trip down the river offers unique geology, outlaw history and Native American rock art.</li></ul>

Summer delivers warm, sunny days (typical highs around 70–85°F) and cool, pleasant nights (often 35–50°F), full access to Flaming Gorge water recreation, and all campground services. Boating, swimming, shore and boat fishing, and the Red Canyon Rim Trail are at their peak, with wildflowers and green meadows still visible at this 7,400 ft elevation. Expect the busiest weekends in July–August and around holidays, so reserve early and check Forest Service notices for fire restrictions or afternoon‑ Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
