The elevation is 50 ft. The campground, located adjacent to the Pacific Ocean with some sites overlooking the ocean and beach, is very scenic and has a manicured appearance. The campsites adjacent to the beach are open with little shade. The other campsites are tucked in among mature Sitka spruce, Alder and a mix of vegetation. Private residences are located next to the the campground. If camping by the ocean is the objective, then Tillicum Beach campground is the place to go. Firewood available for a fee. Best season: summer. Summer offers the most stable weather and the best access to beach activities — expect daytime highs around 55–70°F (13–21°C) with cool mornings and occasional coastal fog burning off to sunny afternoons. Surf fishing, beachcombing, tidepooling, and hiking the nearby coastal trails are at their peak, and marine life viewing (including gray whale sightings) is most reliable. Campgrounds are busiest, so book spots in advance, but you’ll avoid the heavy storm periods that make winter visits more bl Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: January, February
Summer is most stable with peak surf fishing, tidepooling and whale watching.
