There are 2 large group campsites at this facility that can accommodate 15-35 campers and 4 to 6 vehicles each. Both campsites come equipped with 3 picnic tables and 1 combination fire ring and grill. These designated group areas are ideal for large group gatherings and extended family reunions. <p> Walton Lake Campground has 2 group campsites that can accommodate 15-35 campers each. Each Campsite has 1 combination fire ring and grill, and 3 picnic tables. There are flat areas for setting up tents and room to park 3-4 RVs.</p>

Best season: fall. Early fall offers the best mix of comfortable weather, low crowds, and peak outdoor activity at Walton Lake — expect crisp days in the mid-40s to mid-60s °F and cool nights that can dip near freezing. Hiking and wildlife viewing are excellent as animals become more active and meadow grasses take on golden tones, while fishing often improves as fish feed more actively ahead of winter. Campground use drops after Labor Day so you’ll get lakeside solitude and easier boat access, but note the site is Peak months: September, August, July, June Avoid: November, December, January, February

Walton Lake Campground offers a variety of facilities catering to different types of campers. Amenities include paved parking spurs, picnic tables, and fire rings with grills available at all single sites. The campground is split into two sections: the South Side is suitable for large RVs, while the North Side is ideal for car and tent camping. Vault toilets are available throughout the campground, and a solar-powered water pump for drinking water is located in the South Shore section. Accessible campsites and vault toilets are also available in the South Shore section. Two group sites feature three tables and a fire ring each, accommodating three to four RVs and several tent spaces.
