Highway 12 noise reaches camp after dark and quiet hours enforcement is inconsistent, so light sleepers will notice it. No potable water on-site means you're hauling every drop you drink.

Summer brings the most reliable conditions, with daytime highs in the mid-60s to low 80s°F and cool nights dropping into the 30s–50s°F. June through September offers the best window for swimming, fishing, and dry trail access, though weekends draw moderate crowds. Weekdays and less-developed shoreline areas stay quiet. Winter transforms the landscape with snow, limiting road access and appeal to only the hardiest campers. Spring and fall shoulder seasons can be unpredictable.
June–Sept is best window for swimming, fishing; warmest and most reliable weather.
