Go if

Photographers and wildlife watchers who want a meadow to themselves will find spring the sweet spot, when wildflowers peak across Lytle Prairie and migratory birds are active. Bring all your water from Prineville, 40 miles out.

Skip if

No potable water on-site and the nearest supplies are an hour away, so anyone who can't fully self-supply for the stay will hit a hard limit fast. First-come only, so there's no way to guarantee the single site is open when you arrive.
