Go if

Salmon and trout anglers, birders on the migration corridor, and families who grab Acorn Loop early, especially site 97, get the most out of this place. Showers are clean, staff are friendly, and Pulaski is 1.5 miles away for resupply.

Skip if

The campground is closed through 2025 for renovations, so there's nothing to book right now. When it reopens, Chipmunk Loop's tight, sun-exposed sites and the rocky, sometimes algae-prone beach will disappoint anyone expecting classic sandy lakefront camping.
