Tent campers will struggle here, reviewers are unanimous that every surrounding site is uneven and flat ground doesn't exist. Also bring all your water; the nearby brook is unreliable.

Fall offers the clearest benefits: brilliant foliage, cool stable weather, and far fewer biting insects. Daytime highs run roughly 45–55°F during peak leaf season (late September through mid-October), with nighttime temps commonly dipping to the 20s and 30s at this elevation. Perfect for crisp day hikes and overnight photography. Hiking and scenic appreciation peak during this window, with quieter weekday crowds but busy weekends on nearby Appalachian Trail stretches. Winter brings deep snow and severe cold. Summer provides the most moderate temperatures for multi-day treks.
Fall highlighted: brilliant foliage, cool stable weather, fewer biting insects.
