Best season: summer. Summer is the best time to visit Log Gulch because Holter Lake is at its warmest and fullest, making boating, swimming, and shoreline fishing the main attractions. Expect daytime highs commonly in the mid-70s to upper-80s °F with crisp nights in the mid-40s to mid-50s at the campground's 3,629 ft elevation, ideal for campfires. Weekends in July–August can be busy, so reserve a site in advance; weekdays are noticeably quieter. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
Open and busiest May–Sept; summer reviews positive for water activities though busier at peak.
