Summer is the best time for full lakeside use. Expect warm, humid days with highs in the mid-80s to mid-90s °F and evenings in the 60s–70s. Boat ramps stay busy, swimming peaks in shallow coves, and bass and crappie fishing improves early morning or evening. Weekends and holiday periods get crowded, so reserve lakefront or premium sites ahead. Fall brings fewer crowds and amber foliage. Winter offers eagle-watching along the shore, but some facilities close seasonally. Call ahead to confirm what's open.
Peak season with warm weather, perfect for water activities. Book early.
