Go if

Large groups who want a private base camp for lake days: the site sits between Coon Lake and Pine Lake, with canoe access, a park beach for swimming, and the Chase Point esker trail walkable from camp. Summer weekends are the target window.

Skip if

Anyone expecting on-site showers or flush toilets will be disappointed, there's one vault toilet at the group site, and the main bathhouse requires a walk or drive. No potable water on-site either, so hauling water in is part of the plan.
