Summer offers warm lake-front camping with daytime highs in the 70s–80s°F and nights in the 50s–60s°F, ideal for swimming, boating, and waterside campfires. Weekday stays are quieter, but summer weekends bring heavy boat traffic and crowding. Fall delivers cooler, calmer conditions with excellent maple color and comfortable hiking temperatures; some campers report surprisingly calm, pleasant fall visits with fewer bugs. Spring through fall are the primary camping seasons. Shoulder seasons (late spring, early fall, midweek) provide fewer crowds and less noise, though the water may be too cool for swimming.
