Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of crisp, comfortable weather (daytime highs commonly 45–65°F, nights dipping into the 30s) and spectacular northern hardwood color as maples and birches turn. Water temperatures cool but fishing and wildlife viewing peak—deer, raptors and migrating waterfowl are very active—while day-use crowds thin out compared with July, giving a quieter lakeside experience. Expect fewer bugs than summer and excellent photography and hiking conditions; note that some park fees Peak months: September, October, June, July Avoid: January, February

Bobcat Lake Campground offers a modest set of amenities suitable for a rustic outdoor experience. These include 11 campsites, each equipped with a tent pad, wooden table, fire ring, lantern post, and a gravel parking spur. Campsites are surrounded by vegetation, ensuring privacy. Water is available via a centrally located hand pump, and there are two accessible vault toilets within the campground. A sandy beach and day-use area with additional vault toilets, tables, grills, and a changing house is located a half-mile east of the campground. A boat ramp for accessing the lake is adjacent to the campground.
