Best season: fall. Fall delivers crisp, clear weather and the Upper Peninsula’s best color show — ideal for scenic lake views, shore-side hikes, and loon's calls across Henry Lake. Expect daytime highs in the 40s–60s°F and cool nights that make campfires irresistible; fishing and wildlife viewing are at their peak as animals prepare for winter. Trails and campsites are very quiet compared with midsummer, so you’ll enjoy solitude without the bugs and heat of summer. Peak months: September, October, June, July
Fall highlighted as best season: peak autumn color, cool days, beautiful lake views.
