Weather and SeasonsSummer brings the warmest conditions and full services. Daytime temperatures typically range from the upper 60s to low 80s°F, while nights cool to the mid-40s to low-60s°F. Fortune Lake is comfortable for swimming and boating. Mosquitoes and ticks are active spring through summer, so bring repellent. Midweek visits avoid the holiday weekend crowds.
Natural Features and SceneryThe campground sits within Bewabic State Park on the wooded shoreline of Fortune Lake. Towering mixed forest covers rolling, hilly terrain shaped by glacial activity, with rocky glacial features scattered throughout. A sandy beach provides lake access for swimming and paddling. Scenic trails wind through the hills and along the water, with a larger hiking loop branching off loop C. The terrain's elevation changes and dense tree cover create natural privacy between sites.
