Best season: summer. Summer delivers the quintessential Fort Pickens experience: warm, beach-perfect days (typically mid 80s°F daytime, mid-to-upper 70s°F evenings) ideal for swimming, surf fishing, snorkeling and long evenings on the white-sand beaches. Sea turtle nesting and hatchling activity peak in summer, and water-based activities and ranger programs are at their most active. Expect higher weekend crowds and busy reservations—book early and plan for afternoon thunderstorms and heat/humidity precautions. Peak months: June, July, August, May
