Full-hookup RVers will hit a wall here: no sewer at sites, a narrow one-way entry road, and some south-side sites that flood after heavy rain. Pets aren't allowed, and several boardwalks are still closed from Hurricane Sally recovery.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Fall delivers the most comfortable coastal weather, with daytime highs in the 70s to mid-80s°F, lower humidity, and cooler nights for sleeping. It's peak time for migratory shorebirds passing through and less crowded beaches after the summer rush. Early fall still overlaps with hurricane season, so check forecasts before booking. Winter has fewer bugs and quieter weekdays but cooler water temperatures. Summer brings heat, high humidity, and swarms of mosquitoes. Multiple reviewers recommend hiking only at sunrise or sunset during those months. Heavy rains can flood lower-elevation sites temporarily, especially on the south side of the campground. Off-season visits (late fall through early spring) offer the cleanest facilities and most solitude.
Peak season with warm days. Most facilities open. Reserve ahead.
