Summer offers the best combination of access and alpine weather: expect daytime highs around 55–75°F and cool nights dropping into the 30s–40s at 8,950 ft, with long daylight for hiking and exploring. Trails, access roads, and facilities are fully open (campground open May 23; first-come, first-served beginning June 20), and wildflowers, clear skies and excellent stargazing are at their peak.
