Best season: summer. Summer provides the most reliable access and the best weather for high‑elevation recreation — expect daytime highs around 58–65°F and crisp nights near the mid‑30s (about 36°F). Trails, mountain streams, and meadows are at their peak (wildflowers in July, excellent trout fishing and biking), and the campground is open July 1–Sept 12 so facilities and trailheads are available. Plan for afternoon thunderstorms, bring warm layers for nights, and expect moderate weekend crowds with quieter midweek. Peak months: July, August, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Open July–Sept; wildflowers peak in July and reviews cite pleasant summer weather despite mosquitos/storms.
