<p>Seedhouse Group site provides a private setting for your group. Located near the Elk River, fishing, hiking, biking and horseback riding are all readily available.</p><p>This area is also set near the Mount Zirkel Wilderness which provides for some great backcountry experiences. The camping area can accommodate up to 100 people.</p><p>Vault toilets, trash services and potable water are offered at this site. There are 7 picnic tables and fire grates, a sheltered pavilion that will hold 20 people, a group fire ring and a bear proof food storage container. The Group site can also accommodate RV trailers up to 30 feet (no hookups provided). <p>Welcome to Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland! Visitor opportunities abound on almost 2.9 million acres of National Forest System lands.</p> <p>The Medicine Bow and Routt National Forests provide year-round recreation opportunities for you. These activities include hiking, biking, camping, horseriding, OHV riding, fishing and hunting, just to name a few. Beautiful vistas await sightseers and photographers.</p> <p>The topography varies greatly within the national forests. Elevation ranges from 5,500 to 12,940 feet. The climate ranges from semi-arid at low elevations to colder and less arid in the high country. Frost may occur at any time, and visitors to the higher elevations should be prepared for harsh weather, including snow and high winds, even during the summer months.</p> <p>The Thunder Basin National Grassland provides unique opportunities for recreation, including hiking, sightseeing, hunting, and fishing. There are no developed campgrounds; however, dispersed camping is allowed. Elevation on the national grassland ranges from 3,600 to 5,200 feet, and the climate is semi-arid.</p> <p><strong><strong>The following recreation conditions report includes a sampling of our recreation sites. Visit in summer to experience warm, stable high-country weather (daytime highs typically 65–80°F, nights thirty-somethings to mid-40s°F) and full access to Seedhouse Campground and the Elk River Corridor. This is prime time for fly-fishing for native trout, hiking into the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness, mountain biking nearby trails, and abundant daytime wildlife viewing (moose, elk, deer, and black bears). Expect afternoons with occasional thunderstorms and moderate crowds on weekends, but the remote, Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
