Best season: summer. Summer is the best time to visit Mountain Park because the campground is fully open (May 16–Sept 20) and the Cache la Poudre is at its most accessible for riverside activities. Expect daytime highs in the mid-60s to mid-80s°F and crisp nights in the 40s–50s, with dramatic afternoon thunderheads common — perfect weather for morning hikes, afternoon naps by the river, and evening wildlife viewing.
