<p>Aspen Hollow Group sits at an elevation of 5,300 feet within the Giant Sequoia National Monument, adjacent to Kings Canyon National Park. The campground sits just one mile from Hume Lake, an 87-acre man-made lake in the Kings River Watershed. Aspen Hollow Group Campground can accommodate up to 100 people.</p><p><strong>Natural Features: </strong>The Sequoia National Forest is located at the southern end of the Sierra Nevada in central California. The forest is divided into three districts that comprise 1.1 million acres. The Hume Lake Ranger District is in the northern part of Sequoia National Forest in which this campground is located. This district has elevations ranging from about 1,200 along the Kings River near Pine Flat Reservoir and to 11,000 feet, the peak of Mt Harrington. This land scape is home to 13 Sequoia Groves and the majestic Kings Canyon.</p><p><strong>Recreation: </strong>In addition to hiking the sequoia groves, visitors enjoy swimming, trout fishing and boating at nearby Lake Hume. The trails in the district are open to hikers, horses and bikes, however bikes are not permitted in wilderness areas.</p><p><strong>Facilities: </strong>The campground accommodates up to 100 people and has back-in spaces for 35 vehicles. Vault toilets, drinking water, laundry facilities and food storage lockers are provided. </p><p><strong>ExplorUS</strong><br />All developed campground areas on the Forest operate under a concessionaire permit with ExplorUS. Summer provides reliably dry, clear weather (daytime highs in the low 60s°F and chilly mornings around the upper 30s°F at 5,300 ft) that makes this high‑mountain group site ideal for large gatherings, hiking in the sequoia groves, and water activities at nearby Hume Lake and the Kings River. Trails, boat ramps, and fishing access are fully open and the campground is operational from mid‑May through late September, with long daylight hours and an 83% chance of clear skies during peak months.
