Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access and the best weather for exploring the high-country meadows and Giant Sequoias—expect sunny days with daytime highs typically in the 60s–mid-70s °F and cool nights dipping to the 30s–40s °F. Trails to Buck Rock, sequoia groves, and meadow loops are fully clear, and fishing/boating on nearby high‑country waters is at its peak; wildlife viewing is excellent in the mornings and evenings. Crowds are moderate on holiday weekends but overall much lighter than the Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
Open June 20–Sept 30; summer offers best weather, cleared trails, peak fishing and boating season.
