Go if

Horse riders and pack animal trips into the South Warner Wilderness are the whole point here. Each site has a 12x12 metal corral, shade, and a short connector to the Summit Trail. July through October, nights drop into the 30s so bring layers.

Skip if

No horses means this camp mostly misses the mark for you. Amenities are vault toilets and potable water only, the nearest town is Alturas 20 minutes out, and the road and season both close hard once winter arrives.
