No potable water on site means hauling everything in. Summer visits compound the problem: the creek dries by mid-summer, heat climbs, and fire restrictions can close access entirely before fall arrives.

Spring is the clear winner here. April and May bring daytime temperatures between 50 and 75°F, full creek flow, and active wildflowers across the oak savanna. Weekdays stay quiet; weekends fill up. Summer heat arrives by June, and the creek dries out as temperatures climb. Fire restrictions often close access by late summer. The elevation keeps nights cool even in warm months.
April–May: full creek flow, 50–75°F days, active wildflowers—clearly the best season.
Potable water is not available at this site.
