Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable weather — long, warm, dry days (daytime highs typically 75–95°F, nights 45–55°F) with clear skies ideal for hiking, boating on nearby reservoirs, fishing, mountain biking, and excellent stargazing. Trails, water access, and group sites are all in full use and services are at their peak, making it the best time for large-group camping and multi-day backcountry trips. Expect higher crowds and required reservations during June–September, and be prepared for fire-safe Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
Peak season Jun–Sep; clear skies, warm days, good for hiking, boating and stargazing.
