Go if

Campers who can handle a washboard logging road in an SUV and don't mind hauling all their own water will find a genuinely remote lake-side forest camp for $8 a night, with non-motorized boating and a recently leveled, fire-ring-equipped site.

Skip if

No potable water on-site means packing everything in, and the fishing is currently closed due to low water levels, so anglers hoping to drop a line at the lake will be disappointed.
