Best season: spring. Spring offers the best combination of mild weather (daytime highs typically in the mid-60s to mid-70s°F / 18–24°C, nights in the 40s°F / 5–9°C), flowing creeks and abundant wildflowers across the oak woodlands. Hiking, wildlife viewing and fishing are at their peak as Manzana Creek runs fuller from winter rains, but crowds remain moderate compared with summer weekends. Expect comfortable nights for campfires (when allowed) and excellent conditions for day trips into the adjacent San Rafael Wild Peak months: April, May, March, June Avoid: November, December
Spring cited as best: flowing creeks, mild temps and abundant wildflowers.
