Best season: spring. Spring brings the most reliable combination of wildflower displays, mild daytime temperatures (typically mid-50s to low-70s °F) and low afternoon fire-risk, making trails and vistas most enjoyable. Hikes and mountain-biking are at their peak as seasonal creeks flow and oaks and manzanita bloom, while crowds remain moderate compared with summer weekends. Expect cool nights (30s–40s °F), excellent wildlife viewing, and easier road access than in winter storms. Peak months: April, May, March, June Avoid: November, December
Spring is best: reliable wildflower displays, flowing creeks and fewer bugs reported.
