Go if

Hardcore primitives who pack in everything, tolerate exposed sites with limited shade, and want free San Bernardino high-country camping for hiking and off-roading. Fall is the sweet spot: daytime highs in the 50s-60s, less foot traffic, deer and raptors moving through.

Skip if

Cleanliness matters to your group. Reviewers consistently find trash, toilet paper litter, and damaged or missing fire rings on arrival. With no water, no toilets, and no bear storage, there's zero infrastructure to offset that.
