Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable, comfortable conditions for exploring Shakes Slough and the Stikine River: expect long daylight, relatively mild temperatures (daytime highs commonly 50–65°F / 10–18°C) and calmer waters ideal for boating and fishing. Salmon runs and peak fishing, easy glacier and wildlife viewing (bald eagles, waterfowl, bears along streams) make June–August the most active months, while trails and the cabin are fully accessible. Crowds remain light compared with lower-48 parks,但 Peak months: July, June, August, September Avoid: January, February, March, April
June–Aug best: 50–65°F, long daylight, calmer waters and salmon runs peak.
