Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of mild weather, long daylight, and full access to boating and fishing on the twin lakes and the Stikine river system — expect daytime highs around 60–68°F and nights in the low 50s. This is when lake and river fishing, paddling, wildlife viewing (including abundant eagles and shorebirds), and comfortable hiking are at their peak, and the cabin is fully accessible. Crowds are still very light because of the remote location, but be prepared for mosquitoes and a Peak months: July, August, June, May Avoid: January, February, March, April

Twin Lakes Cabin offers basic amenities suited for a remote wilderness experience. The cabin is equipped with two single bunks (one with a trundle bed), a loft, a table with benches, an oil stove (No.1 oil only), broom, and outhouse. It features a partially covered front porch with a built-in bench and wooden cooler box for food storage. Guests are expected to bring all necessities, including sleeping bags, cookware, lanterns, and heating oil. Water is available from natural sources but must be treated before use.
