Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, driest and most reliable conditions for getting to Moser Island — expect daytime highs around 45–65°F (7–18°C), long daylight, and calmer seas for safe boating. This is prime time for salmon and halibut fishing, abundant wildlife viewing (sea otters, seals, seabirds, and shorebird activity on the tidal flats), and comfortable camping on the beach and in the forest. Moser Island Cabin offers a 12' x 14' Pan abode-style cabin equipped with two double and two single plywood bunks, a wood stove, a table with benches, a cooking counter, cupboard, broom, and axe or splitting maul. The cabin features an outhouse toilet close by. Essential amenities like mattresses and cooking utensils are not provided; visitors are advised to bring sleeping bags, pads, cooking stove, pots, pans, plates, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, lantern, fire extinguisher, and fire starter. Rain gear and boots are also recommended. Water is available from a nearby stream but must be treated before use. A mooring buoy is available on a first-come-first-served basis, but cabin reservations do not guarantee exclusive use. Visitors must assess the buoy's suitability for their vessel.
