Best season: summer. Summer offers the longest daylight and the mildest, most reliable weather for accessing Deep Bay Cabin — expect daytime temperatures typically in the mid-40s to mid-60s°F (roughly 45–65°F) with cool, wet nights. This is the peak season for boating, salmon and halibut fishing, humpback whale and sea otter sightings, and extended daylight for longer hikes or multi-day boat trips; the cabin’s ADA accessibility also makes day-use and group logistics easier in summer. Crowds are still light compared Peak months: July, August, June, May Avoid: January, February, March, April
Summer noted as longest days, most reliable access, peak season for fishing and whale watching.

Deep Bay Cabin offers essential amenities for a comfortable and scenic stay in the remote wilderness of Zarembo Island. The facility is designed to be fully ADA accessible, featuring a wheelchair ramp that connects the parking lot to the cabin. The cabin comprises two buildings connected by a partially covered deck with a picnic table. Sleeping rooms, common areas, and oil stoves for heating are provided within the structures. Additional amenities include a small storage shed, an outdoor fire grill, and an outhouse. Notably, the wooden furnishings in the cabins were crafted by Wrangell High School's industrial arts class in 2017. Visitors are advised to bring their own water, as the cabin has no water or electricity supply. Water can be sourced from a nearby stream but must be treated before consumption. Fuel oil for the stoves must also be supplied by guests. Cooking facilities are not available, and visitors are expected to pack out all trash and clean the cabin before departing.
