Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable combination of mild weather, long daylight, and open services — expect daytime highs around 50–65°F and long June daylight (often 16–18 hours) that make boat trips and hikes easy. Fishing (salmon and halibut), boating/kayaking, beachcombing, and wildlife viewing (eagles, sea otters, occasional whales) are at their peak, while the remote location keeps crowds light to moderate. Rain is still possible, so pack waterproof layers, but overall summer is the most hospit Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: January, February, March, April
Best window: 50–65°F, long daylight and calmer seas for boat access.

North Beach Cabin provides campers with basic but essential amenities suited for remote camping experiences. According to authoritative sources, the cabin includes a double plywood bunk bed, a sleeping loft accessible via a vertical ladder, an oil stove for heating, a table with benches, a cooking counter, and cleaning tools such as a broom and dustpan. An outhouse toilet is located near the cabin. However, visitors must bring their own supplies, including cooking utensils, #1 diesel fuel for the stove, sleeping bags, and potable water (although creek water can be treated for use). Firewood for outdoor campfires is not provided, but dead and down wood may be gathered nearby. "The cabin does not include mattresses, cooking utensils or heating oil. Visitors should bring #1 diesel fuel (generally 10 gallons for a three-day stay, more or less depending on the time of year), sleeping bags and pads, a cooking stove, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, a lantern, garbage bags, a fire extinguisher and fire starter."
