Best season: summer. Summer (June–August) offers the mildest, most reliable weather—daytime highs typically 50–65°F (10–18°C) with long daylight hours—making boating, fishing, whale watching, and shore hikes easiest and safest. Salmon runs, bear activity along streams, and peak marine wildlife viewing are at their height, and in calm conditions Freshwater Bay is ideal for kayaking and landing at remote beaches. Expect more visitors than shoulder seasons (book early) but still a very remote, low-density experience by Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: January, February, March
June–Aug best light, salmon runs peak, calm days for boating and wildlife viewing.
