The Avoss Lake Cabin offers basic but thoughtfully planned amenities for a remote wilderness experience. It features a 16x16 ft A-frame structure with a sleeping loft accessible via a vertical ladder. The lower level includes one double plywood bunk and one single plywood bunk (without mattresses), a table and chairs, a cooking counter, and a broom. An outhouse toilet is provided for sanitation needs. Visitors must bring all essential supplies including sleeping bags, cooking stoves, utensils, and water treatment systems. "The cabin is equipped with an oil stove for heat," but visitors must supply their own #1 diesel oil (approximately 10 gallons for a 3-day stay). For transportation on the lake, a small, square-bowed skiff with oars is available, but motorized equipment such as long-shaft outboard motors (2-10 hp) is recommended and not provided. Potable water is not directly available; water must be treated from the lake or nearby streams.
