Winter camping here means hauling your own water to most sites, mid-November through March only site 93 has a tap. Shellfish closures can happen without much notice, so don't plan a trip around crabbing alone.

Summer brings mid-60s to mid-70s°F daytime highs, dry conditions, and long daylight for kayaking and beachcombing. Marine air keeps temperatures moderate even in peak season, with cool evenings. July and August draw the heaviest crowds, so reserve sites well ahead. Winter offers solitude but most water sources shut off mid-November through March. Site 93 at the beach campground maintains water service year-round. Park gates open at 6:30 a.m. in summer, 8 a.m. in winter.
