Paddlers and anglers get the most out of this place: the long pier, boat launch, and calm Sound waters make crabbing and kayaking easy from camp. Bluff-edge sites catch sunrise light over the water, and summer scores high for a reason.

Boat launch fees stack on top of camping costs and the Discover Pass, which catches some visitors off guard. No hookups, vault toilets only, and 44 sites fill fast on summer weekends, so flexibility on timing is thin.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
The wooded banks trap sun on clear days and filter coastal breezes. Late spring through early fall brings the calmest conditions: daytime highs in the mid-60s to mid-70s F, sheltered water for swimming and boating, and accessible tidepools. Late June through August is peak season, with the longest days and the most reliable weather. Expect higher weekend crowds and tight reservations. Winter visits are quieter, though seasonal docks are pulled and amenities are limited.
Late spring–early fall is calmest with sheltered water; busy season May–Oct.
