Best Time to Camp at Camano Island State Park

The lower loop campground welcomes visitors year-round, while the upper loop opens seasonally in May for warmer-weather camping. Plan ahead for winter visits: campground water shuts off from November 17, 2025 through April 2026, though you'll still find potable water at campsite #2 and the cabin/group camp restrooms. Boaters should note that the Lowell Point boat launch docks are removed for winter starting October 20 and won't return until spring 2026, so time your water adventures accordingly.
