Best season: winter. Winter offers dramatic coastal scenery, calmer crowds, and the best opportunity for stormwatching and dramatic low-light photography along the Puget Sound shoreline; daytime highs are typically in the mid-30s to mid-40s °F (around 35–50°F) with frequent rain and wind. Historic Fort Casey and the Admiralty Head lighthouse remain compelling in winter light, and shoreline walks, tidepooling at low tide, and birding are especially rewarding without summer crowds. Expect minimal campground congestion Peak months: January, February, December
Explicitly noted as 'Best season: winter' for dramatic coastal scenery, stormwatching and emptier sites.
