Best season: summer. Summer offers the fullest lakeside experience at Buffalo Park — long warm days (typically high 80s–low 90s°F, humid) and water temperatures ideal for swimming, boating, and watersports. The swim beach, boat ramp, and electric campsites are all in regular use, and fishing for bass and catfish is excellent from June through August. Expect busy holiday weekends and lake traffic, so book sites early and plan weekday visits for quieter water and shorelines. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
Summer is peak season with warm water, best lake use, and strong positive reviews for activities.
