RVers who need water hookups at every site may be disappointed. Some RV spots lack them, so confirm your site's hookup configuration before booking. Paddle-in sites have reported poison ivy, so long pants matter at Prathers Creek.

Summer brings mid-70s to low-80s daytime temperatures (upper 60s to 50s at night), making the New River warm and inviting for paddling, tubing, and fishing. Trails are fully accessible and meadows are green. Expect moderate crowds on weekends and holidays. Midweek or early/late summer visits are quieter. Winter sees January highs around 44°F. Mountain showers occur throughout the year. The Kings Creek Area closes November through March.
