Fall campers chasing trout and aspen color get the best of this place: thinner crowds after Labor Day, active fish, and temps that still support comfortable hiking. Bring layers for nights in the 20s.

Sloped sites catch several RV and van campers off guard, so bring leveling blocks or expect to shuffle around. No potable water on-site means hauling your own, and summer bugs are a real nuisance in warmer months.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of weather, solitude, and fishing — daytime highs at 8,700 ft typically run 40–60°F with nights dipping into the 20s–30s in September and October. Trout fishing is often at its peak as fish feed before winter, and mountain-bike trails and forest roads are quieter than summer months. Expect crisp, colorful scenery along Blacks Fork and far fewer crowds than nearby Mirror Lake, but be aware of hunting seasons and the potential for early snow. Peak months: September, October, August, July Avoid: December, January, February
Described as best season: cool days, trout feeding, and aspen color on ridges.
