Summer brings the most reliable access and warmest conditions, with daytime highs between 60 and 80°F and nights cooling to 35-50°F. The elevation means cool evenings even in July and August. Afternoon thunderstorms are common during summer months. Long daylight hours make this the prime season for hiking, fishing for trout in the river, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing. Weekends fill quickly, and the single group site books far in advance during peak season.
Open May–Sept; warmest, most reliable access and activities in summer months.
