Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of reliable access, warm daytime temperatures (typically 60–75°F) and long daylight for hiking, boating and fishing on the alpine lake. This is when the campground is fully open (May 23–Sept 7) and reservable sites are available beginning June 20, so water sports, trail access into the High Uintas Wilderness, and family-friendly swims are at their peak. Expect moderate to busy crowds on holiday weekends but plenty of quieter weekdays and ample opportunities for Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January

Moon Lake Campground includes a variety of essential amenities aimed at enhancing the camping experience. Each single-family site features a picnic table, campfire ring with grill, and paved roads and parking spurs (typically measuring 16 x 65 feet). Most sites offer lake views, with some providing direct lake access. Flush toilets, drinking water, and trash collection services are available. Water spigots are distributed throughout the campground, and firewood can be purchased at the adjacent Moon Lake Resort. Additional conveniences provided by the nearby resort include groceries, ice, soda pop, fishing bait, and gear.
