Go if

Anglers, paddlers, and hikers who want a quiet primitive site with real river access. Site #5 puts you next to a small falls with room to spread out, and the Bartram and Chattooga River trails are close. Fall weekends at $10/night fill fast, so book recreation.gov early.

Skip if

Litter is a genuine issue here: reviewers have found trash in fire rings and garbage along the river, and bears are active enough that one camper called the place overrun. If that combo sounds like a headache rather than an adventure, this unstaffed primitive spot isn't the right
