Go if

Creek days in summer are the sweet spot: water stays cool through September, the shaded hardwood slopes keep temperatures manageable, and the spread-out area handles weekend crowds better than most. Pack river shoes or Crocs and plan to get wet.

Skip if

No overnight camping is allowed, full stop. There are also no restrooms and no potable water on site, so anyone expecting even basic facilities will be disappointed. Supplies are 15-20 miles out in Blairsville or Dahlonega.
