Best season: summer. Summer is the best time to visit because the campground is fully open (May 23–Sept 8) and the lake is at its warmest for boating and fishing, with daytime temperatures typically in the 70s–80s°F and cool nights in the 50s–60s°F. Trails, wildlife viewing and early-morning mist over the lake make for excellent photography and birding, while long daylight hours maximize time on the water and hikes. Expect moderate weekend crowds at this primitive site — it's quieter than developed parks but popular Peak months: July, June, August, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Open May 23–Sept 8; summer praised for mild temps, recreation and user reviews.
