No showers on-site is the real filter here. Showers cost $4 extra at nearby Poe Valley. The access road is long, dusty, and 4WD-friendly. Road-adjacent sites get noise and grit; book creekside early.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Summer brings mid-70s to mid-80s°F days and nights in the 50s-60s, the best window for fishing, paddling, and hiking without fighting bugs or mud. Creekside breezes help with mosquitoes. Spring and fall offer cooler temperatures and lighter crowds but wetter conditions. Winter transforms the park into a snow-covered retreat, though the access road isn't maintained and you'll need to be self-sufficient. Expect dusty conditions on the road during dry spells.
Best window for fishing, paddling and hiking; pleasant temps and creek breezes.
