Summer brings the most reliable conditions for rockhounding and forest road access. Daytime highs reach the 70s–80s°F with nights cooling to the 40s–50s. The ponderosa canopy moderates heat on warmer afternoons. Wildfire season can bring smoke and restrictions, so check conditions before arriving. Winter transforms the area with snow-dusted pines and frosty mornings, though temperature swings are common year-round at this elevation.
Summer best for access and rockhounding; highs in the 70s–80s and reliable forest road access.
Potable water is not available at this site.
